The treasurer is expected to report and present information at committee meetings.
The Secretary’s role
The Secretary sets the agenda, records the minutes at the committee meetings and sent out before the next meeting.
General committee member’s role
· Read and understand the agenda.
· Take action on agenda items.
· Appointing new management committee members
· Support the action and efforts of the committee overall.
AGM
At an AGM the management committee is elected or re elected. We look at the year we have just had and the year’s activities to come. Everyone is welcome to attend this meeting.
General Meetings
We meet in person or via zoom 5 times a year, we may need an exceptional general meeting (EGM) to discuss urgent matters.
Fundraising
Whilst we receive Early Year’s education funding, this only just covers our basic running costs and we rely on fundraising and grants to purchase new equipment to improve the setting. The money raised goes directly to benefit the children.
The cost of living increases which has an effect on our daily running costs. Other settings in the area charge consumables, this can range from £1.50 a session up to £15 a day.
By having fundraising events we aim to avoid such charges but we do need support from parents/carers to sustain this situation. Getting involved is a great way to learn more about the Pre-school.
